Health Occupations Basic Entrance Test (HOBET)
 
Your HOBET Composite Score must be 50 or above to be accepted into the EMT class. If you have this score, your application will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
If you score is below 50, you cannot be accepted into the EMT program at this time. Don’t be discouraged! Many adults need some review to do well on this test. We encourage you to follow the suggestions below regarding studying, reviewing and retesting.
 
Review
If you would like assistance reviewing for the HOBET:
·         Contact the Adult Education and Literacy Center in your community.
o   The AEL Center in Cape Girardeau is located at 301 North Clark, Room 113.
o   A 20-hour HOBET review program is provided free of charge where you can work at your own pace and within your own schedule.

·         Additional review materials include the following:
o   NET/HOBET Study Guide – This review book is from the company that actually developed the HOBET used by the Cape Girardeau Career & Technology Center. You can purchase this book by calling 1-800-292-2273 or visiting their website at www.atitesting.com
 
 
Retest
·         You may choose to retest one time at a cost of $40.00.
·         You must wait at least 30 days between test dates.
·         Call the Assessment Center at 573-334-0826x6509 to schedule a retest.
