Meet Our Faculty & Staff

Leslie Helman, DPT, Program Director, is a 2008 graduate of Bellarmine University with a doctorate degree in physical therapy.  She has clinical experience in outpatient and school based pediatric physical therapy, as well as inpatient geriatric physical therapy. Dr. Helman is a graduate item writer for the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT), and a member of the MPTA and APTA.  She has been a full time PTA faculty member since 2011.

Andrea Roth, MPT, is a graduate of Union University in Jackson, TN, with a Bachelors degrees in Biology and Psychology.  She graduated from Washington University in 1997 with a Master's degree in Physical Therapy.  Her clinical experiences include: working with adults with mental and physical disabilites, inpatient rehab and actue care, as well as inpatient geriatric physical therapy.  She served as an adjunct professor in 2016-17 and has been added as full time faculty for the fall of 2018.

Heidi Hitt has been with the Cape Girardeau Career & Technology Center since May 2009, and she is the administrative assistant for all Post-Secondary Health Related Programs: Physical Therapist Assistant, Respiratory Therapy, Practical Nursing, Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medication Technician, EMT, and Paramedic. She is eager to assist current and prospective students, and is an asset to our program.
